What A Day & Marie Curie Campaign...

Well what a day yesterday was for a number of reasons...I stupidly set off to go to my college interview which should have taken me 20mins, due to the horrendous weather it took me about 50min. I ended up being late and I HATE being late, I made myself feel physically ill from nerves. I am normally a confident driver but yesterday was a different story.
Thankfully the job interview I had in the afternoon was postponed...I am waiting for a new date.
Anyway finally getting to my destination in one piece the interview went well and there are many opportunities for me to gain some further education...the hardest part will be making the decisions of which direction to go. Do I continue on from my BTEC National Diploma in Business and Finance and take it to degree level, accounting or branch off in a completely opposite direction of creative studies or I have even considered child minding. Who knows....
I have lots of thinking to do but I suppose this is the time now to decide where I want my career to go, as one door closes another one opens as they say!!!!
Some bad news came our way too...our friend Ian (also Steve's business partner) found out that his father has cancer and unfortunately it is too late to do anything for him. Colin (Ian's father) is retired and spends a lot of time with them down at their workplace and also is another Leeds United footie nut so goes to all the games with them too. It is absolutely devastating and brings it home just how important the Marie Curie Campaign and other charities are.
Here is a card I have made to send off to Do Crafts for the Marie Curie 'Create A Card' Campaign they are running for the 4th year...see Do Crafts website for full details (http://www.docrafts.co.uk/)

The gorgeous rose print is from Chris @ Sketching Stamper Digi-Stamps...pop over and take a look. I have coloured with pro markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.
I love red roses for sentimental reasons and have one tattooed on my wrist in memory of my late brother.
Right I am off...getting too sentimental, I hope you can too support the campaign.

Sorry to hear you had such a horrendous day yesterday hun.

The card is stunning Emma, beautiful colouring and love how the white outline really lifts the image. Thank you for reminding me about the Marie Curie campaign, I've done cards for it the past couple of years, so must make sure I do the same this year too.

Take care and looking forward to meeting for a coffee tomorrow.

Sorry to hear the news about your friend's dad. It's horrible. I fully sympathise as you know I've had first hand experience of Tim being ill with cancer. Marie Curie Campaign is always something I try to make cards for as it's vital for patients. What do you say to someone who you know is terminally ill? Please pass on my best wishes.

I'm sure you'll make the right decision re your studies, or perhaps just carry on making cards and forget them lol

Oh Emma, what an horrendous day you had! Sounds like you have a lot of decisions to make and I know it's difficult to pick the right thing, but take your time is the only thing to do I think if you're uncertain. Glad the job interview was postponed, gives you a bit longer to prepare. So sorry to read about your friend's Dad, such awful news. Know how it feels as have been going through this myself with Hubby but he's been lucky. It's going to be an awful time for Ian, it'll be good to have his friends around him. I absolutely love your card and even more so because you used the image for such a worthy cause, makes me incredibly happy. Thank you. Hugs, Chris x
